RELEASED!<\/h1>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1583936888996{padding-bottom: 32px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text]Tibetan writer and blogger Shokjang, also known as Druklo, was detained by Chinese authorities on 16 March 2015 by national security police officers from a hotel in Rebkong, Amdo, eastern Tibet (CH: Tongren County, Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai province). Shokjang was sentenced to 3-years in 2016; no details of the charge against him have been released by the Chinese authorities.<\/p>\n

Shokjang is a prominent Tibetan writer and blogger known for his critical and thought-provoking articles about the current situation in Tibet, including the resettlement of Tibetan nomads. In the days leading up to his arrest, Shokjang wrote a blog post about an intense build up of Chinese security forces in the Rebkong area.<\/p>\n
