On 7 November 2008, the Lhasa People\u2019s Intermediate Court sentenced Yeshe Choedron to 15 years\u2019 imprisonment for allegedly providing \u201cintelligence and information harmful to the security and interests of the state\u201d to \u201cthe Dalai clique\u2019s security department\u201d. No more details are known, other than that her case related to the Lhasa protests of March 2008.<\/p>\n

The Lhasa Evening News, a government run newspaper, reported that the court convicted Yeshe Choedron of \u201cespionage\u201d (Criminal Law, Art. 110), and claimed that the Tibetan Government in Exile had \u201cassigned\u201d her a task and provided her with \u201cfinancial aid.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tibetan sources who know Yeshe Choedron report that Yeshe Choedron has not been able to see her children since her sentencing.<\/p>\n

According to the Dui Hua Political Prisoner Database, Yeshe Choedron is imprisoned in TAR (Drapchi) Prison in Lhasa.<\/p>\n
