Es uno de los cantantes tibetanos m\u00e1s populares de la regi\u00f3n, sus canciones se enfocan abrumadoramente en afirmar la identidad nacional tibetana y expresar orgullo por la cultura y tradiciones tibetanas como una forma de expresar su disensi\u00f3n y contrarrestar la falsa propaganda de las autoridades chinas.<\/p>\n<p>Drakpa hab\u00eda sido detenido anteriormente en relaci\u00f3n con sus canciones. En 2013 fue detenido por una canci\u00f3n llamada \u201cTashi Yardo\u201d, una colaboraci\u00f3n con otro conocido cantante tibetano, Gonpo Tenzin. Gonpo Tenzin fue detenido en noviembre de 2013 y estuvo detenido durante un a\u00f1o y medio antes de ser declarado culpable de &#8220;escupir&#8221;, un crimen de seguridad del Estado que se utiliza a menudo contra los tibetanos que protestan o expresan su cultura fuera de las fronteras toleradas por la ocupaci\u00f3n gobernante china, y condenado a tres a\u00f1os y medio de prisi\u00f3n.
